African cultural context involves family values, historical values, relationship with family members, community, nature and one’s own spirituality.
When we speak about healing in an African cultural context, we speak about sickness. Sickness does not only refer to pain in the body, it also refers to an imbalance within the human being. In the African cultural context, healing is restoring harmony, wholeness in you and your relationships (family, community, nature and spirituality).
Everyone’s journey, challenges and goals are different. There is no arbitrary number that one will have to stick to, but it is dependent on what you are getting out of the sessions and how they are helping you manage your daily lives. At Centre Bethany Centre, you become the agency of change in your life.
Centre Bethany Centre fees are as follows:
• Individual Counselling - $140 / session (50 minutes)
• Couple’s Counselling - $200 / session (50 minutes)
• Family Counselling - $240 / session (50 minutes) which includes up to (4) family members
You will meet with the counsellor in a safe and confidential virtual space. Together, we will review your completed intake package and consent forms that will give you an opportunity to ask and/or clarify any further concerns you may have. We will then speak about what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from counselling. If you feel that there is a connection, then we will continue our journey together for further sessions.
We use humour and laughter where appropriate, coupled with a combination of eclectic modalities to treating traumas. Some of the therapeutic modalities used for counselling are:
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
• Family Systems Theory (FST)
• Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT)
• Brief Solution Focused Therapy (BSFT)
• Client Centered Therapy (CCT)
At this time, Centre Bethany Centre does not offer sliding-scale payments. We believe that counselling should be a naturally budgeted expense and as such have set fees for our services. We offer a one-time 15-mins free consultation service which can be scheduled through our booking site. In addition, we have a list of Additional Supports that may be helpful in your journey of healing and well-being further down on this page.
We accept e-transfers to [email protected] and most major credit cards (Visa, Master Card, Amex, Discover), Apple Pay and Google Pay.
